1. Services
Sam provides individual tuition in English Language, English Literature, History, Geography, Functional Skills, adult English and EAL. A-Level tuition is English Language only. Online lessons use Google Meet; in-person learners travel to Sam in Brighton. Sam does not travel to students.
2. Booking and confirmation
Bookings can usually be made with at least 24 hours’ notice and up to 30 days ahead. Some bookings may need Sam’s confirmation. If Sam cannot accept a paid booking, the payment is refunded in full.
3. Prices and payment
The total booking prices are £210 per month for 4 × 1-hour lessons, £420 per month for 4 × 2-hour lessons, £60 for 1-hour lesson, £115 for 2-hour lesson, £220 for 4-hour lesson. Stripe processes payments. The free online consultation costs £0 and does not require a card.
4. Four-lesson options
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically and include four bookings per billing period, each lasting the selected one or two hours. Credits reset at the start of each billing period. Dates are booked separately and are subject to availability. Unused lessons do not carry over and have no cash value. Cancelling renewal prevents a future charge but does not itself issue a current-period refund.
5. Changes, cancellations and refunds
Lessons may be rescheduled with at least 72 hours’ notice. The refund policy explains the seven-day, 50% late-cancellation and 75% current-period monthly rules. If Sam cancels, the customer may choose a replacement lesson or full refund for the affected lesson.
6. Learners under 18
For under-16s, a parent or guardian must be the booker, payer and main contact. Ages 16–17 require guardian details and consent. Adults may book independently.
7. Responsibilities
Learners should attend on time and provide accurate course information. Online learners need a suitable device, internet connection and safe place to work. Information about support needs is optional; share only what helps with teaching, safety or reasonable adjustments.
8. Results and materials
Sam cannot guarantee a grade, exam result, scholarship, bursary, university place or other outcome. Teaching materials are for the learner’s personal study and may not be republished or sold without permission.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits statutory consumer rights. Different rules may apply when an online or distance-booked service is due to start within a statutory cancellation period.
10. Legal status
These terms are practical business copy, not professional legal advice.
